Quick but exciting update: Airwave is now live on the Apple TV App Store.
You can search for it right on your Apple TV, or grab it here. Install it, point it at your Airwave server, sign in with Plex, and you land straight in the guide. No sideloading, no developer mode, no TestFlight. Just a normal app from the store.
Desktop is ready too
Alongside the Apple TV launch, the native Windows and macOS desktop apps are available to download now from getairwave.tv. These aren't a browser tab in a wrapper. They run a real mpv engine, so they direct-play the same 4K, HDR, and lossless-audio content the TV apps do, with the full guide and DVR.
The rest of the platforms are on their way
This is the start of a wider rollout, not the finish line. Every store has its own review process, and Airwave is working through each one:
- iPad shares the same universal App Store listing as Apple TV and is in review.
- Android TV and Fire TV are in their testing and review tracks.
- Roku is submitted and on its way.
- LG webOS can be sideloaded today, and the browser player works everywhere in the meantime.
I'll post here as each one goes live.
And it stays free to self-host
None of this changes the core promise. The server, the admin, and the browser player are free and source-available to run yourself. The native store apps are a small paid convenience for people who would rather install from a store than sideload. Your library, your server, your channels.
